Known in Italy and around the world for its unique location on top of an enormous outcrop, Asolo is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. A collection within the ancient walls that branch off from the fortress of the 12th century, preserves its history. It is required to be a rest stop at the Castle of Queen Caterina Cornaro, former Queen of Cyprus exiled to Asolo in the 16th century.
For the emotions that this small hill town rises in its visitors, Asolo was visited by poets, writers, artists and travellers. These include the English poet Robert Browning, the divine Eleonora Duse and the English traveller and writer Freya Stark.
Every second Sunday of the month, the antique market takes place through the streets of the historic center.
